So.........how soon should I hit the plateau?

2008-05-30 18:49:29

I know... don't weigh yourself every day. I'm guilty as charged. But, the scale
hasn't changed in about 2 weeks- I am still 30 pounds down and tomorrow it'll be
5 weeks. I'm feeling better- my clothes are getting pretty baggy- just the darn
number on the scale. : ( Any "rules" about how it "should" be going?
I'm just a little panicky here. I feel so much better and I am able to eat
pretty much anything I want- except sweet stuff and it holds NO appeal to me at
all- so that's good. : ) Please tell me I won't be the first person in the
history of the DS who failed to lose more than 10% of her starting weight...

Hi Lizanne!
Just wanted to mention that Celestial Seasonings has a wonderful
packet on the go made with Stevia. It's REALLY good and there's no
artificial sweetener (I've become allergic to all artificial
sweeteners since the surgery). These are really good and gives an
alternative to water and unsweetened tea.

Re: [DrMarchesini-DS] Speaking Portuguese - Luis

2008-05-29 09:59:38

Hi Patrice,
As far as a know people will understand most of what you say in Spanish (if you
do not speak too fast). However, it will be almost impossible for you to
understand Portuguese. At least this is what happen with all Spanish speakers
that I met.
One helpful thing about Portuguese is that it is a phonetic language - every
time you see a consonant + a vowel it will have the same sound - and this is
different from English that varies depending on the the word.
Foz do Iguacu is a beautiful place. I know that it is possible to go by bus but
I would check first for the price. The difference between flying and taking the
bus may not justify the sacrifice. I would recommend you to stay there for two
days (one night), That will give enough time to enjoy the area.
A good Hotel there is "Tropical das Cataratas", but it is not the cheapest one.
Enjoy there,
Luis
austinmoon24 <plieb@...
Luis,
I speak Spanish pretty well having lived in Mexico City for eight
years, but am having a real roadblock learning Portuguese. Will
people understand me in Spanish? Since you speak English - what are
some pronounciation hints!
Also, I hate to miss Iguassu. After surgery would be the only time
for me to go. How tough are the roads if I take a bus? Is it better
to fly from Curitiba? Is there a hotel there you recommend? Would
one night be enough to see the falls?
I really appreciate your info.
THANKS.

Well....I feel like crap! I just sat down to read a few posts. I
have to skip around because I just don't have time to read all of the
posts with the twins taking up ALL OF MY TIME other than the few
minutes a day that I have to pick up their mess and do the normal
household stuff. I'm sorry for not sending out a HURRAY for you
Robin! I also want to say that if you are anything like me or most
people, you are SOOOO close to the hurdle to where you start feeling
better! I would bet it's just another week or two! I can't tell you
how I went from feeling like you, to feeling "normal" overnight at
about the 7 week mark! I just had a pretty normal sized bowl of
hardy taco soup! Sunday I had a small salad with taco soup and a few
crackers! I think Taco Soup is a pretty common recipe with the
hamburger meat and the cans of rotel tomatoes, corn, Ranch Style
Beans and taco seasoning and a packet of hidden valley dry dressing
mix?? It's SOOOOO good to be so dang simple and SOOOOO warming for
cold weather! If anyone wants the actual recipe...just say so.
Anyway.....Congratulations, Robin! You have lost a LOT of weight for
only 5 weeks! Remember that! Hang in there!

Hi Judy, Hi Lisa and hi once again Alex and Valerie,
First of all I am at a cross roads at the moment, I have about 9 more pounds
to go to get my 10% weight loss and a pysch consult and then I will be placed on
the to have surgery list. Dr Hahn is my surgeon. I too Judy was on the kaiser
group but was getting more and more depressed by it on a daily basis as
everyone's stories were different, there was one girl claiming she had been on
Dr. Hahns desk since Aug and still was waiting for a surgery date and stuff like
the pysch consults are booked 2 months out now... there are many stories and
many negative things to be said by Kaiser members. Im 20 months into the process
but for me that is a good thing because I am really sure I want this and I have
had plenty of time to back out, You are right this is life changing surgery and
you have to be prepared for it. Judy when I saw my surgeon the end of August
they had new people orientation scheduled for every day of the month including
sundays and twice on Sat. Its crazy alright.
You may or may not hear from them in 6 weeks. I got my consult appointment the
last day of my six week wait and it was for a month from then. Yes, I do travel
a distance to get to Fremont but there are people from Elk Grove also going to
Fremont. Maybe when I have surgery everyone can meet HAHAHA Im sure something
can be arranged in the future. Do any of you want a new addiction, some of us
from this site started a quilting site and we are having a great time there.
Sharon and Penny are the other two californians on that group...
All I can say is Im so thankful for this group in general it stays upbeat and
on a positive note and everyone is so concerned and helpful to each other. I
have been to Stocktons support group and after hearing the leaders story now two
times in a row Im beginning to wonder what good it is doing me except fulfilling
my surgeons wishes
Sorry for the epistle.

Hi Pam,
You'd have to email him to be sure, but I'm guessing you would have no problem
getting scheduled on or around February 10th with Dr. M. I had my DS on 10/20
and my airfare was $908 round trip coach. I went alone, and I spent somewhere
just over $11,000 total, which even included some shopping. Granted, traveling
there and back was not fun, but well worth it.

Air Fare to Brazil

2008-05-24 21:14:22

Hello all,
This is my first post to this group. I am currently scheduled to have the
DS in Brussels, Belgium on February 10th, 2005. However, I am having some
second thoughts relating to cost in view of the difference between Belgium
and Brazil.
Let me tell you first, I am an American living in London, England. I can go
back and forth to Brussels via the Eurostar (train) for $120.00. I am
paying $15,000 for the operation.
But when I am reading people are budgeting $12,000 all in,
(airfare/hosp/visa/incidentals) that is a huge difference! Most of you who
have said they budgeted $12k said that included airfare. Can you tell me
what some of the airfares you are paying? Just done a quick check on the
web, and air fare from here would run me approx. $1200. Not taking into
account even air fare, the Brazil option comes out cheaper for me! But I
would have to deal with a 15 hour flight on leaving there - unless I opt to
go to NC and visit family for a week before coming back over.
ACK! Decisions. Another thing is I am psyched for Feb. 10th. Anyone know
the lenght of Dr. M's waiting list?
Thanks,
Pam

Re: [WLS Friendship & Support] Kaiser Fremont meetings

Hi there Alex,Beth and anyone else going to Kaiser Fremont or close location:
Kaiser Fremont group meets the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month at 6:00-8:00pm.
In November the 4th Friday will be moved to the following week because of
Thanksgiving weekend. This past Friday was my first visit, there were 40 people
there. big group lots of information and laughs. I enjoyed it..
Dr. hahn was supposed to visit but he was called away to hospital, we did have a
Kaiser employee moderating the q&a's to keep it flowing because the group is so
big and everyone has so many questions. You should all know that anyone is
invited, even people outside of Kaiser. They ask your name and pre-op or
post-op but thats all. We signed in but you can just skip the clipboard when it
comes by. Just thought I'd let you know because they did discuss how anyone
could attend the meetings.

Feeling Down--

2008-05-24 06:50:50

Sorry, guys I haven't been writing very much today. Just feeling
kind of down. My daughter was suspended from school for a day
because she pushed a desk into a teacher. The school psychologist
called and told me that tomorrow I'll have to make Aly do work around
the house instead of letting her stay in her room. Yeah, like that's
going to happen.
Then I had a talk with my dad and his wife about some financial stuff
and they're claiming they loaned me a little money when I thought it
was a gift and we're just kind of in a financial rough spot right
now. Having to purchase those stupid protein bullets and special
food for me to eat (we used to get food from the food banks, but now
can't eat most of it and are in a different jurisdiction since we
moved and don't get the same services)and moving just has made things
a little difficult financially. Plus our washing machine broke down
and we had to buy a new one. And, we're just getting caught up from
having to pay utilities on two houses while we were moving because I
just couldn't get things together because I was still recovering from
open bypass.
And, I just now got the child back that I was babysitting before the
surgery. I have her 4 days a week now and sometimes 5 days and some
days are 12 hour days. And I'm out of Zoloft and have no money for
more until Friday, or until my dad and his wife decide to be nice and
drop some in my account.
You know stress really messes up these sensitive pouches of ours.
I've been sick all day.
OK--NOW I've vented and I'll be fine. That's how I am. Get it out
of my system and move on. So, I'm going to have a snack, take all my
supplements and go to bed! Cause I'll need the strength tommorrow to
force my daughter to clean the house--NOT and I need to clean out the
garage so I can unfold the treadmill my in laws brought over the
other day.
SORRY FOR RAMBLING--Just ignore this.
Sheggy/Shannon

I know a lot of people who feel that way. My best friend was born in Cuba. He's
been here for ages. Came here when he was 9 and he's now 51. He's a citizen and
when they were processing tax refunds he was told he'd never paid witholding
taxes so he would get no refund. He's paid witholding taxes on every paycheck he
ever earned. His lawyer told him it would be nearly impossible and would cost
far more to investigate than his tax refund would have been. He has other
hispanic friends who had the same thing happen. Really stinks doesn't it.

Re: [DrMarchesini-DS] Sneeze!

Robin I'm 9 months out from my stomach revision and I still can't eat poultry.
One chicken wing and it comes up as soon as it gets down. I can eat seafood and
meat without any trouble though, so if I can never eat poultry again I can live
with it. You definitely will be able to eat a greater variety of food and much
more food so that you don't get so hungry. Dr. M says we will eventually eat
like normal people. The DS turns us from huge eaters into normal eaters,
amazing!
Carole
Robin <jkrdrmom@...
Hi,
I sneezed yesterday while getting ready for work and now my incision
is very sore. Nothing seems or looks wrong! I of course didn't have
my binder on at that moment!!!! I hope I didn't hurt something and
it is just sore. When I feel along the incision I only feel a firm
ridge all along it from top to bottom. It looks fine with no
draining or openings. It is just sore now!
I also am feeling so exhausted! Yesterday was terrible and I just
had NO energy. I feel like a wet noodle. I still never really enjoy
eating much. When I do eat my stomach still feels that "starving"
feeling for several minutes. If I drink something with milk in it
like a low carb carnation breakfast drink (14g protein) I feel much
better though. Even just plain milk helps though it makes my nose
stuffy to drink so much milk. I do not like soy milk! Maybe the milk
is coating my stomach or something. I am just glad it doesn't make
me nauseated. I never was a big milk drinker before.
Basically I am just not feeling well. No fever! nothing tangable to
describe. I just feel YUCKY! Tired, depressed, lethargic,
irritable, wheepy, etc...
The first set of labs is supposed to be at 3 months isn't it? I am
wondering if my iron levels are low. I have not taken any extra iron
yet. The pills I am already taking overwhelm me (vitamins, zoloft,
buspar). I am going to try the chewable vitamins Dave suggested in
hopes that helps. However, my mouth doesn't like to eat tums or gas
ex which is chewable so I am not going to bet on it. The last few
days I have noticed that when I take my antidepressants, my tummy
feels very strange afterward for a while. Maybe it is stiring up
extra acid or something. I hate to think I have to take another pill
so that I can take my pills! UGH!!!!
Oh well... It is 3:00 am and I just woke up to potty (drank too much
before bed) I am going to weight myself in the AM. Hopefully I will
have another weight loss to report. I am weighing myself on tuesdays
which is my weekly anniversary. Today will be the beginning of week
6 for me. Woohoo! I sure wish it would be 6 months instead cuz I am

I wanted to tell everyone about the BEST chicken. It is Purdue perfect
portions. It is lean lean lean individually packaged portions. I got
the Italian spice version - I could only eat 1/2 of one so I made the
remainder into chicken salad for lunch the next day. Anyway, I just
baked it and it came out super moist and delicious. It is really worth
the extra money if you find it at the store.
I got mine at the bulk store (BJ's Costco or Sams) so it was only
$8/large package.
I honestly highly recommend it. What a great source of delicious
protein!!!!

Re: $12,000 budget sound OK?

2008-05-22 19:26:58

That is what I budgeted also. It paid for my tests there which were
about $300.00 total for everything, plus my hotel airfare for 2
people (coach), hospital fee, Dr M's fee, visa costs, and other misc.
costs. I really didn't buy any big gifts while sightseeing though.
I didn't eat out much either. I did use room service a few times and
I used a taxi a few times. I think that your budget is very
realistic.

Re: Support person question

2008-05-22 12:45:32

You don't have to have anyone go with you. Lots of people here went
alone. I brought my DH and others have brought other people. They
are basically for moral support and company. I think others have
done just fine going alone though. Hopefully there will be other
americans there when you get there. I think that happens alot. When
I was there I saw 5 other americans there at different times.
Since you know so early, you can learn a little portuguese. It is
really helpful though not necessary. My DH learned a lot. I tried,
but was not so good. It helped to be able to talk to those who did
not know english.
Durval and Dr M speek very good English. Most of the Nurses I met at
least understood the words nausea and pain.
I am glad to hear you have picked Dr M. You will not find a better
surgeon than him and not a nicer hospital either. It IS strange
being away from home for surgery, but it is totally doable. Good
Luck!

Hi all, decided to get the DS with Dr. M, hopefully May 24. I was
wondering, what is the support person suggested needed for? Most
people I know can't get off work for that long. Is it for more
emotional help, or other health reasons? Thanks!

Re: dr referral to Dr M

2008-05-21 06:12:42

In the documents Dr M sent me he requested a letter from my Dr
detailing my health issues and giving medical permission for me to
have surgery..
this is the exact wording..
"Please attach medical report of your clinical condition, if you
have some other diseases and attach also a medical permission to be
submitted to a bariatric operation "
My Dr doesnt want to write a letter because Dr M is not licensed in
Canada and said he doesnt think he can refer me to him. He is
checking into it with his licensing board but so far he isnt helping.
Anyone else have this issue?

RE: [DrMarchesini-DS] george??--question about airport transport in brazil

2008-05-20 04:49:46

Diane...as I said it is $30 or was 16 months ago when they had to rent the
van for a special trip to the airport for my daughter. They don't own it.
They rent Daniel, the driver, and the van. I also used it one afternoon for
a 4 hour tour of the city because except for that afternoon I was in the
hospital full time and never even saw Curitiba. That is what it cost. We
hadn't yet met Ana and I didn't fit into a regular taxi cab. As it is
Durval always had to find steps for me and help push me/pull me into the van
since my knee wouldn't let me make that big step up. W

yes, he did say dollars, though whether that's what he

Sneeze!

2008-05-19 15:48:55

Hi,
I sneezed yesterday while getting ready for work and now my incision
is very sore.
6 for me. Woohoo! I sure wish it would be 6 months instead cuz I am
hope by than all this tummy trouble will be gone.
Thanks for listening to me whin!

More on airport transfer

2008-05-17 17:02:46

This is from one of the emails I received from Dr. Marchesini.
"I need to know your arrival time, your air carrier, your flight
number. Durval will be there waiting for you and I will see you
later on at the hotel."
"I will take care of your hotel reservation. I am not sure however
if I get better rates than through Internet. Lower prices mean less
advantages. For example, the Van is free for regular reservation.
Cheaper rates won't give you free rides."
Patrice

Taxi from airport

2008-05-17 13:03:38

I understand that if Dr. M. makes the reservation at the hotel one
pays a higher price than the internet rate. With the internet rate
you don't get free trips to and from the airport. It still makes
sense to pay for a taxi ride and pay less at the hotel. That's what
I'm planning, anyway.

Prolonged Use
Adverse effects are more likely to occur if supplements are taken in
doses greater than 2,000 to 2,500 mg a day for a long period of
time. Your doctor should regularly check your blood calcium levels
if you are taking calcium supplements to treat low blood calcium
(hypocalcemia).
Overdose Symptoms
Early symptoms: Constipation (especially in children), diarrhea, dry
mouth, increased thirst and frequency of urination, persistent
headache, loss of appetite, metallic taste, nausea and vomiting,
unusual fatigue. Advanced symptoms: Bone and muscle pain, irregular
heartbeat, persistent itching, extreme drowsiness, mental changes.

My transport from the airport was free, but I had Dr. M take care of my room
reservations for me.
Are you sure he said 30-40 dollars, and not Reai (30-40 R = about $10-15)?
You could alternatively find a cab at the airport. Curitiba cabs are orange
with a green leaf detail on the doors. If you hail one and show the driver the
name and address of the hotel, you can ask how much the ride will be (Quanto?),
and write the numbers in the air if you don't know how to say them in
Portuguese. I never took a cab to the airport, so I don't know what it will
cost you.

Re: [WLS Friendship & Support] Valerie's wait

No, I have heard of it for blindness but it also creates a MAJOR issue for the
patient in court sometimes. Don't follow that persons suggestion. Seriously,
if you didn't get the info from you dr. and it involves illegal drugs, just say
no.
If you are looking to lose weight, why would you want something that someone
told you increases your appetite anyway? It is just a couple more weeks until
you see the surgeon...you will get all of the information that you could ever
want at that time. In the mean time, please stay with us and learn all you can
from people who are suffering with issues other than being big.
Lisa A
lizanneflowers <lizanneflowers@...
Welcome Valerie,
How long of a wait is it before you get scheduled for surgery? You
say about a couple of weeks before the appointment to meet the
surgeon in your message. But then how long until you get your actual
date? I remember that was a really hard wait. But it went very
fast.
About the medicinal MJ? I have no idea. Here in the east there is
really no such thing, except maybe NJ. I have no appetite but MJ
would make me more sluggish, and I was sluggish enough after the
surgery. I am really only just starting to lose my slug mentality.

My questions are........How many mg. should I take??? How long should I take
it??? Should I take my acidophilus along with it???
Any other info would be helpful. Hubby and pouch are about to run me out of the

would rather not think about it.

Ally, I still don't own a scale. I keep thinking I need to buy
one, but I think I want to get a few weeks out before I do, because
I doubt I will drop enough weight to make it move in 4 days, so I am
trying to not set foot on one until then. I don't want to get into
that mode, and I am sure as soon as I buy a scale it will happen.
Good luck with your scale addiction!!

4 days post op

2008-05-12 02:43:32

Hello Everyone,
Just stopping by for a couple of minutes. I am 4 days post op and
feel pretty good. Went walking around Wal-mart today. That was okay,
but by the time I was done I was ready to come home, however, it was
time to go pick up the kids. I have been resting a lot and trying to
make sure I get in my fluids and my protein. I have not really taken
much pain medicine. I take a little before bed so I sleep better. I
sleep in my own bed!! Yea!! So, far everything is going good. I
have to say though that I have been having trouble seeing since the
surgery. I can see far off just fine, but up close everything gets

Judy,
I also had my pick of dates. I actually picked one that was 6 weeks
out from the approval. That is what I needed to get everything in
order. Most of the time you are given a choice starting with the
earliest available.

Calcium and vit. E are safe, but you can overdo on vit. A. I never took
ADEK, so I don't know how much it contains. As always, check with your doctor.

Question regarding surgery advance notice

2008-05-10 15:14:04

Judy,
Days vary. I'll tell you what happened with me. After I finished
all my pre-surgery hoops and tests, I contacted my surgeon, who I had
already seen, we were just waiting to follow all the proceedures.
They then sent all the results in a packet to the insurance company.
That was the worst for me. The waiting for the insurance approval.
For me it took about a week, which is pretty average. Then the
surgeon set up my surgery date. I did have a choice of three dates
about 2-3 weeks in the future. I picked the closest and then time
just flew by.
5 years ago I did the same thing and was denied, but the wait after
insurance approval would have been 6-8 months. Things have improved
in my area....Baltimore, Maryland. Johns Hopkins Bayview medical
center.

I was just wondering how much notice you get when it's surgery time? Like do
they call you and say "okay can you come in 2 weeks to get it done?" do you
choose from a few dates they have available? I'm way ahead of myself but I like
knowing everything waayyy ahead of time.

I've been having this problem. I used to get one grilled honey mustard snack
wrap from McDs for dinner just so I wouldn't have to cook. The first week I did
this, it worked perfectly but when I tried to continue it for the second week in
a row, everytime I tried it, I threw it up. Same thing happened with some baked
BBQ chicken I made, the first day it was fine but when I heated up leftovers
later that night (or the next day) I threw it up and haven't been able to have
it since.

When you check in at the hotel, tell them you want DSL in your room. Take along
a broadband cable. I could never find one that fit my laptop while I was there,
but other people had no problem. They will tell you how to set it up and if you
have trouble doing it, call downstairs and someone will come up and set it up

3 1/2 Months and down 104

2008-05-06 16:03:04

Well I wanted to wait till my fourth month but I had to share it with
someone....
3 months and 2 weeks (and 2 days) and I am now officially down 104 pounds
( the weight I am after breakfast )..
For the most part I feel okay... but I am still experiencing some
pain in the incission area... (not all the time but once, twice or even three
times a day for 30 seconds to a minute... and then apparently its gone.) and
I do have this pea sized bump which is in the first inch of the incission
scar which feeels like it is actually below it.. and about an ich and a half
lower another bump smaller is there now.
Anyone else have anything like that or thats close to it....?
My Energy level is stronger.. I spent Thanksgiving in
Carmel-By-The-Sea walking on the Beach and that would have been impossible 4
months ago...
I feel moments of dizziness (Still) upon standing up and they go away
pretty fast... but I remember standing up used to be the real chore.....
Gas is a big problem ... I had it so bad the other night my stomach
muscles were killing me from repeated passing. (my poor wife)
I have found if I eat pure protein (steak, super lean deli slices of
lean meat etc. I have no gas passing to speak of)
Theoretically my weight loss should start slowing down now,,, and
maybe it is ... .. I just hope it doesn't stop before I reach my goal
weight....

Duodenal Switch Diet

2008-05-05 17:08:27

What is the most interesting is I willingly eating in public and even
willingly announce that I eat frequently and that is part of the way I
live. Eating is not a secret event to be hidden because the whole world is
watching the fat person stuff her face. Now it is a simple matter of fact.
People know that Wendy carries snacks and she gets hungry often. If I am
hungry I say so. Eating is a very public thing instead of a private thing.
I am eating for enjoyment yes..but I am also eating for body fuel. Neither
of those are things to be ashamed of. It is a major change in the entire
approach to food. W

Re: Orange protein bullets

2008-05-05 04:49:06

Lora,
Thanks for the info. I find it so odd that this surgery affects us
all differently. Most people who posted in these sites, always said
that the colder the better. I am finding that not to be true for
me. The tea works best for me as a fluid, and any cold fluids
including popsicles tend to make me nauseous. The popsicles cause
this less than the others but they are a treat. Beside the orange
flavor, everyone used to rave about the blue raspberry, in the
protein bullets.
I will try to hit GNC this weekend. Is there any other place, not
online, where I can get some protein bullets, other than GNC? Trader
Joe's?

Orange protein bullets

2008-05-04 20:25:39

I have been having trouble getting down the protein bullets without
gagging (even though the one I tried before surgery didn't bother me --
it wasn't GOOD, but it didn't make me gag). Someone suggested I try
the orange flavor, so I did, and it is much easier for me to get it
down. Not only do I only have to drink only half at a time (it's the
42g vial), but the texture and flavor don't bother me nearly as much
as the grape, fruit punch, melon, etc. that I have tried.
So, if you're struggling with the protein bullets but need them to get
your protein in some days, you might consider trying the orange. (I
can even handle the orange at room temperature which is MUCH more
convenient when traveling.)

Duodenal Switch Diet

2008-05-04 20:08:57

Robin...I'll be 16 months out next week and I still eat about every 3 hours.
Occasionally I'll be involved in something and forget myself and realize it
is 4 hours but that is rare. My stomach can tell time and I always have a
protein bar, peanut butter cheese crackers or some nuts or something in my
purse in case I am delayed somewhere. When I get hungry it happens almost
instantly and if I don't eat when hungry I am miserable. I eat about 5-6
times a day and about the same amount each time. It isn't like I have 3 big
meals and 2-3 snacks. I don't eat big...and can't..unless I am at a
restaurant or something where we are talking so long I just continue to eat
much longer than I would at home. Generally I eat 5-6 meals of equal
content during the day. And I love it that way. I can eat all the time
since I now enjoy eating and I don't feel guilty and I tend to work on the
protein the first few meals of the day so in the evening I can eat whatever
I fancy. Often that may be protein too but it can be anything from a bagel
or cheese and crackers or even a bowl of Raisin Bran if I think I need fiber
or during the summer I was on a cantaloupe binge. I miss it now. I find
eating all the time a pleasure. And everybody laughs because they see I am
always eating and don't understand my surgery. W

Re: Duodenal Switch Diet

2008-05-04 08:40:57

I am mostly grazing also. I eat probably every 2-4 hours when I am
awake. I just can not eat enough in 1 meal to keep me going any
longer than that. If I wait too long, than I am starving and my
stomach actually hurts. I also drink a LOT of skim milk lately. It
seems to really settly my stomach when the starving feeling hits. It
feels like it is coating it. I usually eat a bit of protein and
drink a little milk. Wierd for me because before I RARELY drank milk.

Ally,
I totally understand. I am obsessing over my scale. I love it and I hate it
too. I get on 2 times a day...I say that it is so I can better understand my
body, but really, its to see if I lost a little more during the day. :(
If you can make it a month, I think you will be able to conquer your issue.
Maybe weekly weigh-ins like weight watchers is a good idea for those of us who
are having this problem.
Lisa A
Allison <allisonmarie22@...
Well, I am not going to try and claim I have not crossed the line into
obsessive.
I had to have my fiance hide the scale because I was getting on it every day and
crying if I hadn't lost weight. It was over the top. I told him that I didn't
want to see the scale for one month. Tomorrow it will be one week since I got on
the scale. I seriously think I sound like a crack addict or something, but it
has been a really hard week without my scale. Although I will admit it has been
hard in a different way. It's hard not knowing,
