Blood is very carefully tested and the doctor may be correct generally....I

you have nothing to worry about. W

this question has come up on another list i belong to.........from
what i understand the blood there is screened for the same things as
the blood supply here.
other than POSSIBLY Carole........to my knowledge none of the
American DS patients that Dr M has operated on since i joined this

Blood products question??

2007-07-30 23:18:59

Hi,
I was having a discussion at work with my coworkers. A resident doc
mentioned that he wouldn't have surgery like this in another country
because if a blood transfusion is needed the blood that they use for
the transfusion is not checked as carefully. He said the US blood
banks test their donated blood much more carefully than countries in
south america.
Does anyone remember hearing about this? Has anyone here needed
blood after surgery for any reason and was the quality of the blood
in question?
I am just curious and would like to know what anyone has heard.
I still don't have any real fears about this surgery. I feel
confident in Dr M's care.

Same here re two surgeries. My gastro told me to see a surgeon. I've
decided not to see a surgeon until Dr. M. sees the report and twice I have
been told it was faxed to him and it wasn't. But...once Dr. M sees the
report he will tell me if I have to see a surgeon here or if I can wait
until I know if I am going to Curitiba. If I can wait the heck with having
surgery here. I'll pay for it there and do everything at once, if possible.
It might not be OK but I sure will try. W

RE: [DrMarchesini-DS] Off to Tahoe and then Brazil?!?!?! >>Kelly

2007-07-29 15:13:38

Many people buy one of those flat wallets on a string so they can wear the
money around their neck under their clothes. Others have used money belts
or whatever. On my honeymoon in 1963 my husband was pick pocketed the 3rd
day and all we had after that was the $3 or $4 I had in my wallet and those
were the days before ATMs. We then developed the policy that we would
always split our money so we could never again lose everything no matter
what happened. So I had ½ in my tote bag and half tucked into a zipped
inner pocket in my jacket and truthfully I was so uncomfortable with the
trip and so anxious to get off the plane I never even thought to worry about
the money. My mind was on how uncomfortable I was and counting the hours
until we landed.
Have fun in Tahoe. The 15 years we lived in SF we spent an awful lot of
time in Tahoe. Love the place. W

Have I lost my mind? Hubby and I are headed out to Lake Tahoe for his company's

laundry and pack to leave fro Brazil on the 24th. I am only nervous about
carrying the money with me. It freaks me out. I am not known for my ability to
keep track of things- especially when I am nervous about losing them in the
first place. Anyone have any great "secrets" for carrying that much cash? Silly
to be most worried about that- but it's where I am at! Well, wish me luck- we
leave Sunday fro Tahoe- one week before I leave for Brazil! : )

Question about doing my wire transfer???

2007-07-27 07:28:59

Hi,
I read the info and printed the instructions from the FAQ. I will be
transfering my Hospital money on monday morning from my bank.
I just wanted to be sure the info on the FAQ was up to date? Are
there any other tips anyone has on making this transfer? I have
never done a wire transfer before! Any special advice or
instructions would be welcome.
I leave for Curitiba in 1 week. Friday at 6pm is my big send off. I
am surprised I have any finger nails left! I am not getting a lot of
sleep either.
I scheduled myself to go to work for the next 4-5 nights (12 hour
night shifts!) on purpose just to help me stay busy and think of
something else besides surgery.
Now....If I could just keep my coworkers from asking about it and
reminding me! My surgery is the talk of the unit right now when I am
there. I am hoping there is a LOT of babies to be born this next few
days so I can keep my mind off of flying to Brazil. I think the
flight right now is my worst fear at the moment(I HATE to fly!). The
other will take first place in the fear department when I arrive in

JAMA article

2007-07-23 19:09:28

Hi everyone: I saw the new post on the CNN report on various types of
bariatric surgeries. I posted the complete paper it was based on in
the files section under "JAMA article" as it was published earlier
this week in JAMA-Journal of the American Medical Association.
Basically, it confirms what we already know (even if most US docs and
insurance companies don't know): that the DS gives the highest
percentage of excess weight loss of any of the surgical procedures,
while having a worldwide mortality rate of about 1.1%. It is also
credited with having the highest success rate for diabetic patients.
The article summarizes studies done in the US as well as around the
world, and concludes very positively for our surgery. So when those
no-nothing PCP's, surgeons and insurance companies press for lap band
and RNY, while you are still holding out for the DS -- take this
article and tell them to ....... (you can finish the comment I'm
sure!!!!) Seriously, this article should help those folks still
fighting for insurance coverage while being told the DS
is "investigational".

Hi,
I emailed Dr M about getting copies of my medical/surgical reports
with detailed descriptions of my surgery etc...
He just emailed me back and confirmed all my surgery details, AND
said he will prepare full surgical reports IN ENGLISH! for my PCP and
will also include information to the PCP about after care needed and
how to contact him if she needs to.
DR M is the BEST doctor I have ever been assiciated. He is kind,
polite and very interested in ME as a patient. So far I am VERY
impressed with him. I deal with doctors all day long at work and
have never seen one with a bedside manor like his. I bet he is like
the old fashioned doctors who would come to your house to see a
patient. Like those old doctors that several generations of families
see.
I am so excited to meet him in person. I know I will be in the best
of hands with him.

if he
I had to have a surgical report to turn in to the gastric pacemaker
company to show what happened to the pacemaker that Dr. M removed
from my stomach. I sent Dr. M an email telling him what I needed and
he promptly sent me a detailed surgical report. Of all the surgeries
I have had this is the only time I have ever seen my surgical report,
even when several doctors were involved, so it does not seem standard
practice to give patients a copy of a surgical report, even in the
US. They can always be obtained upon request, and from my
experience, it the same in Brazil.

I like the feeling of going from size 54 pants to 48 in such a very
short time...
On occaision I eat to much and feel a bit nauseous .. but food wise I
am not cheating I am maintaining 85 to 90% protien and filling in with stuff
like Apple Sauce and when Iam really good I make no fat/ no sugar jello
pudding.
the great difficulty is trying to maintain the vitamin/calcium
intake.. I average about 2000 of Calcium a day but sometimes fall below it and
over
it on the following day.
My wife is my water monitor and makes sure I am hydrated ... but I find
I have to be constantly reminded to drink....
All in all I am glad for the wieght loss... I still feel spells of
weakness and some slight internal pains or discomforts from time to time... but
I must say I already feel more energy than I did on any given day last
year... can only hope the energy levels increase.
I thanks the good Dr. Marchesini for doing such a great job in
turning my life around and setting me on a path toward health and mobility.

"Brief" would certainly be the operative word. The "report" basically says
"Brittany had a BPD with DS for her morbid obesity. Her surgery was uneventful.
Feel free to contact me." I did remind my dr. that he could contact Dr. M., to
which he replied "I'm not calling Brazil!" Don't you just love Kaiser!

Re: [DrMarchesini-DS] David ....protein drinks

2007-07-17 15:13:07

Deidre,
I also use the Slim fast low carb shakes. My pcp asked that I drink at least
one each day for a while to make sure I am getting enough protein. She didn't
suggest slimfast exactly, but I have found that it tastes the best for the price
and the amount of proteins, fats and carbs. I have found the the vanilla agrees
with me the most and then the chocolate royale.
I also watch the sunday paper...someone almost always has it on sale. This week
Osco (a drug store with lots of other food items) had it on sale for $3.99 a
four pack and I had a $1.00 off coupon to boot. I felt like I hit the lottery!!
I am two and a half months out and still find it hard to get my protein in
daily...sometimes even with the shakes. Still can't eat very much at a time.

David (and any others interested),
Today I tried Slim Fast low carb chocolate shake in the can. It had
20 grams of protein and I thought it tasted very good. It has NO soy
in it but mostly made up of milk and milk protein concentrate. It was
really good especially in a pinch to run out the door with. Hope it
is helpful.

Re: Post-op: PCP not happy!

2007-07-17 00:34:03

Well....It is standard proceedure where I work to have those reports
whenever possible. I was just assuming that is something Dr M
would send home with me when I come home. I remember reading
something about him sending any xrays and reports back with me for my
pcp. Operative reports are important to tell exactly what was
preformed and how with any important finding made. I will be sure to
get those for ME when I leave Brazil. Maybe they are in Portugese
though? That would be a problem for an American doc. They would have
to be translated.
Let me know what Dr M tells you. That is kind of important
information to know.

A psotive report about WLS

2007-07-16 14:31:43

I just saw a spot on my local news that came from CBS news which was very
positive about gastric bypass surgery. He went on to say statistics show
that 83% lose their sleep apnea, 77% lose their diabetes and 62% lose they
hypertension. True, they were talking about the RNY but they interviewed a
woman who dropped from the high 200's to 199 in 7 months and isn't finished
losing and she said she did it to get rid of her co morbidities because she
was so worried about her health. The reporter acted like her being off
insulin was a miracle. I was so shocked about the positive report that even
if it was the RNY who cares!!! It was so nice to see something positive
about the medical aspects of WLS. W

Post-op: PCP not happy!

2007-07-16 11:48:20

Hi All
I saw my PCP today and he was really rude. I am 1.5 months post-op
and in pretty good shape. I showed him the post-op paperwork Dr. M.
provides and he was appalled. He said that it was "standard care"
for all surgeons to provide an operative report and to perform
pathological findings on all removed body parts. This coming from a
doctor who had not even heard of the DS. I thought it would
be "standard procedure" for doctors to stay current on medical
procedures/trends/advances! Anyway, did anyone else have this
problem? I emailed Dr. M. and I'm really hoping he produced both
after my surgery and can send me copies.
Is my doctor just a jerk or is this justified?
Thanks in advance for any responses :)

Re: Questions about Gout post-surgery!

2007-07-15 11:26:58

Hello Robin,
Here is some good news for you and of course --
YMMV!!! But I had fairly severe and yes painfull gout
in right foot and occasionally in left foot PRIOR to
Dr. M's magic DS!! Since Dec. of 2003 I have had two
very very mild episodes and both were handled by
the NSAID Indocin...(taken with food & Dr.M's OK!).
As to that very very rare complication...there are good
doctors at the Med Schools in St. Louis who are aware
and can handle that "almost ...never happens /rare
complication" and Dr. M can always be reached by
phone in the event of an emergency.
As to "DH"-- you are a valuable contributing member
of your family...IF he doesn't acknowlege this as TRUE
...then perhaps you need to seek counseling after the
DS and learn there are alternatives to the situation.
We care about YOU Robin...the "yips" will pass and
YOU will be fine! The DS is going to help you on so
many levels...the next months are going to be full of
exciting challenges and achievements. We are all
cheering you on! Go Robin Go!

Re: [DrMarchesini-DS] Experience Needed! Several questions.....

Of course you're tired girl. Your body will be healing for another couple of
months. Try eating two small bites of solid food, waiting an hour, then try two
more. The popsicles sound wonderful. In the beginning it always takes us awhile
before we can eat even relatively normally. I'm 3 months from my revision
(stomach made smaller) and there are still many things I can't eat. But it gets
better all the time. I might even want to try chicken again soon. As soon as
chicken, white or dark meat, hit my stomach, it would come right up. When I
started eating the only things I could eat were vegetarian protein like the
Morningstar Farms chicken nuggets and shrimp. Now I can eat all healthy food
except chicken so I feel I've made tremendous progress. You will too. Don't
expect to be able to eat your 70 grams of protein a day right away. You won't be
able to, but eventually it will become easy. Good luck.

Hello, all!
I have been lurking and trying to keep up with everyone. Tomorrow
will be three weeks since my DS and I am still not feeling well and
have some questions. I went to my PCP's physician's assistant today
and she was little help. In fact, told me that normally my surgeon
should be doing this follow-up but since I chose to go out of the
country..... blah, blah, blah. My PCP and her nurse is very
supportive so the next appointment I have will be with her. I just
needed to go in today to see if I would be able to get another week
or so reprieve from work. I did get that. Now, for my questions......
(1) I get very hungry, but nothing (except sugar free fruit bar
popsicles)taste really good. I can eat no more than 3 small bites of
solid food before my stomach begins to sort of cramp.
(2) Whenever I eat, I get nauseated. Then I throw up... not much and
it is immediately after eating, mostly thick, clear stomach
secretions,I think. No gagging, wretching, etc.... just up it comes.
(3) My incision is healing extremely nicely (except where the seroma
is draining)but.. it feels like the nerves are sitting right on top
of the skin in some places. Also, I hurt inside along the incision
when I get tired. Sometimes, difficult to breathe. Normal?
(4) How long does the average (if there is an average... I know YMMV)
seroma continue to drain?
(5) I run a VERY low grade temp when I get tired. My lab work is just
on the border of being high for WBC and the Hematocrit is just
borderline low. Is this just my old body trying to heal itself?
(6) I am just laying around, except for my twice daily walk, and I am
always tired. Any suggestions?
Thanks to all tips & answers.

Lisa -
I'm so glad to hear that you are doing so well. As for the F word....
Try simethecone. It works wonders. I am not so troubled with gas the
past few days, but it works fast and works wonders for me.
Also, Ozium is available at Target in the automotive section. Takes
care of the lingering cloud!
I am using a bladder control pad on my seroma. I just cut the pad in
half, add a piece of folded gauze at the area of the actual opening
and tape it in place. It works so much better than bandages because
it is soft against your skin and has the outer leakproof cover. Be
careful of thin maxi pads though. Some of them have a plastic feeling
layer that is next to your skin. Could be very irritating.
God bless!

A Year Ago today & the next day too

2007-07-11 09:02:46

That's why I decided to post it. Many people know me now and see how happy
I am. But new people don't know how absolutely desperate and scared I was 2
months post op. And even though I was here almost all the time I was
convinced I was the only one who was going through this. We all think so.
For the record I went to a year ago again today and printed part of my
therapist's response which also is applicable to most of us. I am very
lucky to have found her. And I will never have a public journal because I
write for myself. But if people think there is benefit from my posting bits
and pieces periodically from my first year I am willing to do it. But only
if it doesn't sound like Wendy monopolizing the conversation again since I
tend to talk a lot. <g
I hear the panic rising and it's not good. So, here's what I think. You
showed remarkable strength when you pulled yourself together and got your
self to Brazil for your surgery. When you believe something will work you
are very strong, determined, and effective. However, you believed
consciously and unconsciously that the surgery was going to be a magic
bullet and, that has not been quite the case. Now that you are confronted
with having to do the work yourself, you are running scared. Your
preoccupation with what to eat, comparison of yourself with others who eat
everything, quest for the right nutritionist, etc., all fall into the
category of "let me find the magical bullet" again. There is no right
food(s) that will meet your nutritional needs, soothe your feelings, satisfy
your taste buds, require no preparation. That quest is a blind alley and
will divert you from what needs to be done. I am afraid that if you stay on
that path you will fail. I have told you a couple of times and I'll say it
again, the protein foods you are eating are fine and that is what you need
to do. Boring, yes, but if you take food on a routine base as it is
intended it is simply fuel.

I have kept it very simple today. Eggs (over easy and deviled),
cottage cheese w/ canned pairs, a couple of little hunks of cheese,
yogurt (no problem w/ lactose as of yet) and the gas has not even
begun. Maybe it won't. I hate to have to eat this bland forever,
but I know that this too shall pass. For now, it's much better on
ALL of us for me to just keep it simple. Thank you for all your
help. I thought I was doing the right thing by chewing to
smitherines....but apparently, there's more to it than that! I
appreciate you all!!!
I also learned yesterday the full meaning of seroma! I am healing
beautifully, no sore places or red places. The incision is looking
wonderful and last night I went to get ready for bed and I was
soaked! I couldn't change my dressing quick enough because it was
gushing so fast. I am glad that it did, because I had been saying
all day that I was looking swollen and protruding too much from that
area. Sure enough...nature did take its course and made an opening
for all the fluid to escape! I hope it's shortlived. I seem to be
right on schedule.

Where in TX are you? I'm in the DFW area. You will love Dr. M. as I'm sure
you've already figured out. This surgery isn't a picnic, but it is the best
gift you will ever give yourself. You are less than a month away from a
whole new life. I wish you the best on your journey. I'll have you on my

Yeah, Diane, I can't believe it myself. My original goal was 150 so I am
already there. Then I decided that I wanted to get into the "normal" range
on the bmi chart so if I make it to 140 I'll be there. If I don't lose
another pound, I'm a happy camper. I'm going to want some plastics some day,
but my hubby and I were both unemployed all summer and I'm still looking for
a job, so it will have to wait. The good news is that hubby's new job has
good insurance so it looks like I'm finally going to be able to get my
hernia fixed - HOORAY! I'm going to see what it would cost to do a tummy
tuck at the same time, but my stomach isn't too bad. I'm more worried about
my arms and thighs. I've been very fortunate that my tummy just didn't sag
as much as I would of expected. Dr. M. thought I'd make it to 170, so I have
way exceeded his expectations.

look forward to turning 50? HA! I'm a few months behind you (I'll be 49 next

Val, You are an inspiration thank you for your post. I am scheduled to have ds
with Dr M. on 11/09/04. It is nice to hear stories from people like yourself
that share their experience with us newbys. I am both excited and scared. But
can't wait to begin my weight loss journey. Janie in Tx.
Val McLean <vjmclean@...
I think it is so important for new people here to hear both the good and the
bad and your post was an excellent example of how helpless and panicked many
of us felt early on. I remember thinking at my first plateau that I was
going to be the first one that this surgery didn't work for and that I was
done losing weight at 3 weeks past surgery. Now, a little over one year
later, I've lost 136 pounds and my quality of life has improved a
thousand-fold. My body has its own unique pattern of weight-loss. The
further out I get, the longer the plateaus seem to last. The last one was
close to two months, but in the last two and a half weeks I've lost another
10 pounds. During those two months I also went up and down by 4 or 5 pounds
several times. The first time I "gained" several pounds I really flipped
out. I was not eating any differently and was getting in my vitamins and
water so just couldn't figure out what "I was doing wrong". I think we are
so conditioned to failure at our many weight-loss attempts that we really
believe we are somehow sabotaging the surgery. Hopefully newbies can benefit
from our past experiences and not beat themselves up when it happens to
them. I really appreciate all the support I've gotten here and hope that I'm
able to help others on their journey as well. I wouldn't got back to my old
life for all the money in the world!

Re: I'm new to all of this

i had hair loss after my gall bladder surgery in 1989, hair loss
that started about 2 1/2 years ago due to diabetes and hair loss
following my DS........
the DS was almost 9 months ago.
hair loss started at about 3 months or so post op and is ( i pray)
slowing down now.
most docs i have asked say the post op loss is a response to the
anesthetics.
not the specific surgery.
not everyone has it.
those that do.........when it starts and how long it lasts seems to
vary.
i am going to try to get ahold of some of that Avocor that Carole
mentioned.
others have metioned the supplements Zinc, and Bioten.......
increased protein.....and hair care products called Nioxin
blessings.

Hi, everyone! My name is Rachel and I am new to all of this. I am
researching all I can on DS and I have been reading messages here
for about a week now. I will be a "self-pay" but waiting for funds
to become available. I do have a question and of all the questions
I have this may sound silly but why is it that there is hair loss?
I do enjoy reading the messages here, and many of you guys seem so
very sweet and caring. I am hoping that my best friend will make
the "switch" with me as she is the one who turned me onto this.

Re: [DrMarchesini-DS] Hey guys...I'm home...and stinking!!!!!

2007-07-05 07:44:37

Lisa, I am glad to see you arrived home safely. It is so nice to be back
home, isn't it? I know you missed your family and you were glad to see
them. Be careful and don't over do it.
You can eat anything you want, but you will pay for it later. Your body
has changed since you had surgery. Foods that never caused you gas
before, will give you gas now. Foods that gave people gas before
surgery may have been beans, broccoli, cabbage, etc. Now, muffins,
donuts, potatoes and carbs will give you gas. Sweets and fats will give
you diarrhea.
It has only been 9 days since you had surgery. Can you eat anything you
want? Sure you can, but Dr. M gave you a diet, and his diet says you
should stick to liquids for two weeks, then you can eat soft foods
(eggs, cottage cheese) fish and chicken. You can eat soft foods like
potatoes and gravy, but it will give you gas. Making smart food choices
right now is critical if you want to avoid the nasty consequences of gas
and diarrhea. You will be able to eat all of that good stuff very soon,
just keep in mind you just had surgery and your body is healing. Don't
rush it. When you stick to his diet, you can avoid a lot of gas.
Since I had surgery, I have not had diarrhea since I came home. Not
once. I am very slow to lose weight, so I am avoiding bread, noodles,
rice, potatoes, bread, gravy, sweets. I eat eggs, salads, cheese, meat
and vegetables. None of these foods have given me gas or diarrhea. It
may not work for everyone, but it works for me.
When we were children, we did not say the word "fart" either, we said
flatus. We said BM's when we were toddlers, then we said bowel movements
when we were older. These were not considered dirty words at home.
You said you felt "super", I am so glad to hear that! You never know
how people will feel after surgery. We are all different, so it is hard
to tell. I figured, since you have a house full of children, you must
be a strong woman. LOL You must be feeling pretty good, since you took
the kidlets to Wal-Mart.
How is it going with the two babies? I know it is hard to not pick them
up, when they look at you with those sad, pleading eyes. It is so hard
to say "no" to them. :(
Best of luck with the gas and diarrhea. It will get better with time, I
promise.

I was lookin forward to meetin Robin, Kelly and all the others that

there will be others and that is a comfort.
I would like to continue with the group..supportin, laughin and

I do appreciate very much your decent, honourable and

I am feeling very sorry for any misunderstanding that
previously may have occured in between us and I look

Now I want to ask you how are you doing.
How is your weight and QOL?

A Year Ago today

2007-07-03 18:46:17

I think by now most people know I keep a diary. I just read a year ago
today before starting to write today's entry. It struck me that it might be
helpful to see what I wrote then. When I wrote the following I was 5 days
past my 2 month anniversary. This is part of an email I sent to my
therapist. In the year since that was written I went on to lose 75 more
pounds, lost most of my co morbidities and became able to eat anything I
wanted when I wanted as long as I followed the few simple rules we all know
about. This is dedicated to new post ops and their first plateau......W
I've picked up the phone several times to call but then figured what would I
even say in a message? I don't want to leave a long rambling one and to
just say I am miserable just wouldn't do it. I spend all my time berating
myself. I am the only person in history who is not losing weight. I made
an appointment to see Fagan on Friday to see if she knows a nutritionist who
is familiar with WLS. Everyone says I am not eating enough. Dr. M. says I
should be eating my protein and not resorting to supplements to get it
because food will stay with me more. I really don't know how to do things.
I buy meals from Schwans or make scrambled eggs or cottage cheese or real
cheese or other stuff but other people eat tons of stuff. I don't even know
what to tell people to buy or how to do it. I really don't know how and am
stymied. The scale said 338.5 last Saturday which means I have gained and
lost the same 3-4 pounds for a month now. I weighed 326 when I came home
and dropped to 323 before I started gaining. I really am at a complete loss
and feel like a failure and a fool.
I only printed the first part of what I sent my therapist because the poor
lady must have had to read endless middle of the night ramblings which
boiled down to I am a failure and woe is me and on and on and on. Within 3
weeks I was writing a completely different tune and when I get there I'll
try to remember to print some of the new song. I am so glad to be where I
am now rather than where I was then. Life was so confusing until I knew my
body's pattern and what to expect. W

two weeks from today! ; )

2007-07-03 10:29:04

I will arrive in Brazil- yeah! ; )
I have finally figured out what to tell people to keep them from looking at me
like I am a total freak to go half way around the world for surgery. I just tell
them that I have crappy insurance that won't pay for ANY surgery of this type so
I am self paying and as a self pay person I get to choose the very best Doctor
to do my surgery and the very best Doctor is in Brazil! ; )
Since I have started explaining it that way everyone seems to "get it" . No more
looking at me like I am insane! ; )
now, back to my original thought in this whole email- Has anyone had an
international cell phone that they've taken to Brazil? If so, what company and
was it horrendously expensive? : ) Thanks for any and all info! ; )

Hey guys...I'm home...and stinking!!!!!

2007-07-02 20:43:17

Hey ya'll.....I'm FINALLY home...well, I've been home for a couple of
days now. I feel great! I'm re-learning how to eat. I'm SOOOO
happy to be back with my husband, my daughters and my babies! The
flight home absolutely BIT!!! Those 10 hour flights are KILLER!! I
also made the mistake of not taking any food with me on the plane.
Don't do that! Bring food to eat! I was about dehydrated and
starving by the time I got home! Literally! I am sleeping like a
rock here at home! I needed to come HOME to get some decent rest! I
had some beef stew today....SO good! Dr. M said we can pretty much
eat whatever we want as long as we chew it up as if it were put
through a blender. Now....I need help. I have always pooted....my
kids call it "poot" and fart has never been a word that I liked to be
used in the house with the kids. I just always thought it was an
ugly word for little girls to say and we just always said "poot".
Well...NOW, I am majorly FARTING constantly!!! I never understood
what ya'll were talking about when you referred to the horrible
smell. I thought...how could anything smell WORSE than a nasty
smelling gas!!??? NOW I KNOW!!! I'm going to make the house
permanently REAK (sp?) of this horrible smell! My stomach is always
rumbling trying to muster up another fart! 4 or 5 minutes
later....here it is! My kids are holding their noses 90% of the time
yelling EWE!!!!!!!!!! They did that to me in Walmart yesterday while
I was trying to be inconspicuous!! My own precious little girls were
yelling EWE!!!! in Walmart because they just can't help
themselves!!! What can I take? What can I do? I'm not eating a lot
of carbs...NONE actually! It always happens more after about 2 or
3pm when the morning foods start moving through there and then the
diarrhea in the evening until bed time. Any advice?? Does this gas
go on like this forever? I'm afraid to leave the house? I know the
diahrrea will let up or at least I will know when to expect it and
plan my outtings accordingly...but I can't hide from the farts!
Please help! I've taken Beano since yesterday and it's done NOTHING.
Tell me everything. What to buy. What to take. What to not eat?
What is the very best stuff for spraying if anything (I can't imagine
ANYTHING will work). I swear the farts are making my pants stink
long after the fart is gone! Don't laugh!!!
Other than that....I'm super!!! LOL
